The log structure is crafted from antique chestnut, poplar, oak and red spruce logs which were sourced from log buildings in the nearby vicinity in the 1970's (some up to 175 years old at that time.)
Once you step over the threshold and through the 2 ½" thick antique chestnut front door into this home, you can sense the history and the builder's passion for the details. The home's entry, featuring massive aged hand-hewn beams, handmade brick flooring and ornamental ironwork, leads into the Living Room with its cathedral ceiling, soaring stone fireplace and views to the water. The oak, cherry and chestnut wood flooring that leads you from one space to the next, was all handcrafted by the builders and installed with recycled antique square nails.
