The population for Lewisburg is 3,830 according to the 2010 census. Lewisburg has many 18th and 19th century buildings and is home to families, young professionals, and senior citizens and hosts thousands of visitors from all across America and around the world each year.

Both caves are registered National Landmarks by the National Park Service.

For the bicyclists and hikers take the Greenbrier River Trail, a rail-to-rail conversion in Eastern WV spanning 76 miles along the banks of the Greenbrier River from Cass in Pocahontas County to Caldwell in Greenbrier County and only five miles from Lewisburg.

Some annual attractions are:

• ​The State Fair of West Virginia is held in nearby Fairlea every August.
• Belsnickle or Old Christmas is celebrated with the Shanghai Parade on New Year’s Day. In this observation of the older traditions, people dress in costumes and march down the main street. Its term comes from “collie-shanghai”, an old word related to making a lot of noise.
• Food festivals: Taste of Our Town (TOOT) in October and the Chocolate Festival in April
• The Lewisburg Literary Festival, held in August, is a celebration of books and the written word.
• The Greenbrier Classic Concert series are held in nearby Fairlea at the State Fair Grounds every July. A handful of artists who have performed the last two years include West Virginia native Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Reba McEntire. Miranda Lambert, Rod Stewart, Lionel Richie, and Jon Bon Jovi.
